Not every imaging problem fits a predefined vertical or segment. When your modality, sample type, workflow, or analytical need sits outside the standard, we scope, build, and validate a solution from the ground up — alongside you.
Your imaging setup doesn't match any standard platformA novel instrument, an unusual sample type, or a non-standard acquisition protocol that off-the-shelf tools weren't designed for.
You need a validated, auditable pipelineRegulatory submissions, clinical workflows, or quality-critical environments that require full documentation, reproducibility, and traceability of every analytical decision.
You want the capability in-house but lack the teamThe imaging expertise exists — the computer vision and ML engineering to build a production-grade pipeline doesn't. We bridge that gap.
You have a new modality with no existing toolsEmerging imaging techniques — new contrast mechanisms, novel detectors, unconventional sample preparation — often have no analytical tooling. We build the first one.
Engagement types
Three ways we work together
Every custom engagement starts with a conversation about your imaging challenge. From there, we scope the right type of collaboration — from a bounded deliverable to a long-term analytical partnership.
Engagement 01
Scoped Project
A defined problem. A delivered solution.
A scoped project has a clear brief, defined deliverables, and a fixed timeline. We take a specific imaging challenge — a custom segmentation model, a pipeline for a particular assay, a proof of concept for a new modality — and deliver a validated, documented solution. This may mean adapting existing OptiFlow modules or building new analytical capabilities from the ground up. Either way, the deliverable is production-grade and validated against your data.
What's included
Discovery and scoping session to define requirements, success criteria, and data needs
Custom model or pipeline development against agreed specifications
Validation against your imaging data with documented performance metrics
Delivery as a deployable OptiFlow workflow or standalone module
Handover documentation and one post-delivery support window

An embedded partnership is for organisations building an analytical capability over time — iterating as the science evolves, adding modules as new imaging questions emerge, and integrating deeply with internal workflows and data infrastructure. Logic Byte functions as an extension of your team: attending relevant meetings, understanding your domain deeply, and co-developing rather than just delivering.
What's included
Ongoing access to Logic Byte's imaging AI expertise across the partnership duration
Iterative development with regular delivery cycles and review checkpoints
Integration with your data infrastructure, LIMS, or instrument software stack
Priority access to new OptiFlow modules as they are released
Dedicated support channel and quarterly roadmap alignment sessions

Platform adaptation takes OptiFlow and extends or reconfigures it for a specific domain, instrument type, or workflow that isn't covered by the standard verticals. Where existing modules can be adapted, we adapt them. Where they can't — where the imaging physics, sample characteristics, or analytical requirements demand something genuinely new — we build the module from scratch, then integrate it into the platform. The result is the full power of OptiFlow's architecture with analytical capabilities purpose-engineered for your environment.
What's included
Full OptiFlow platform licence with all core modules
Custom module development for your domain's specific analytical requirements
Instrument-specific image acquisition integration and pre-processing pipeline
Domain-specific UI configuration and workflow templates
Onboarding, training, and ongoing platform support
Custom engagements may draw on OptiFlow's existing module library — reconfigured and extended for your domain — or require capabilities built entirely from scratch. If the analytical tool you need doesn't exist yet, we build it. Either way, what you receive is production-grade, validated against your imaging data, and yours to deploy.
Augmented reality capabilitiesReal-time AR overlay and in-silico enhancement of live instrument feeds — including generative AI rendering of virtual stains, contrast augmentation, and region-of-interest annotation directly on the acquisition view. Deployed commercially at ETH Zurich.
Detection, segmentation, morphological characterisation & statisticsPrecise localisation, boundary delineation, enumeration, and per-object morphological characterisation of features of interest — cells, particles, defects, inclusions — with population-level statistics, texture analysis, and spatial distribution outputs across any imaging modality.
Classification & gradingSupervised deep learning for object-level classification, phenotypic scoring, disease grading, or defect categorisation — trained on your annotated data.
Unsupervised anomaly detectionNo labelled defects required. Learns normal appearance from clean reference images and flags deviations automatically — ideal for novel failure modes or new imaging modalities with no defect library.
Real-time & embedded processingLow-latency inference pipelines designed for live-stream processing and on-device deployment — including embedded systems where computational footprint is constrained.
Net-new capability developmentWhen no existing tool — ours or anyone else's — does what you need, we design and build it from first principles. New contrast mechanisms, novel detectors, domain-specific architectures, unconventional sample types: we engineer the analytical method alongside the pipeline that delivers it.
How every custom engagement starts
Step 01
Conversation
Tell us about your imaging challenge — no brief required, no commitment expected.
Step 02
Scoping
We review your data, define the analytical problem, and propose the right engagement type.
Step 03
Build & validate
We develop and validate against your imaging data, with regular review checkpoints.
Step 04
Deploy
Delivered as a deployable workflow — on your infrastructure, at your scale.
Tell us what you're trying to solve.
There's no standard brief required — just a description of your imaging challenge. We'll take it from there, propose the right engagement, and work with you to build what works.
